We’re Solihull Council’s in-house Building Design Studio.
Building Design Studio are different. Our unique position as a collective of experts across the disciplines of the built environment, whilst being the in-house design and delivery team at Solihull Council gives us an extra-special ability to deliver successful projects.
We are so passionate about design and architecture.
This passion infuses every single project we work on. From minor works through to large scale new builds and master-planning; our team push the boundaries of what’s possible to get the very best outcome for the available budget.
Our Approach

It all started when….
We have been involved with the delivery of Local Authority projects since the group's inception some sixty+ years ago, and since then have operated as a semi-quasi independent business unit. Find out more about the history of our group here.
Services
We offer the full range of architectural services from design to delivery. We also provide a wide range of other related services including: Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Interior Design, Visualisation, Structural Engineering, Urban Design & Masterplanning. Our creative, dynamic, passionate and innovative team can’t wait to get started on your project. We’d love to show you what we can do.
BIM
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the way forward for the construction industry and our team is well versed in its delivery and its benefits. Collaboration and 3D modelling of large data being the principle drivers to aid communication, quality to reduce waste & costly disputes. We are currently focused on achieving BIM Level III in the next 12 months.
Sustainability
In an age when the planet is at the top of the world agenda our team are experienced in delivering sustainable, energy efficient buildings and BREEAM certified buildings. For more information, click here.
Solihull Council
Solihull is a large town in the West Midlands. Home to the NEC, Touchwood, Birmingham Airport and in the not too distant future the main interchange station for HS2.
